Tell Me the Truth by Kiersten Modglin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Uh yeah so Wow, this one caught me off guard because usually, I know or at least have an idea of what’s really going on and rarely am thrown off like this story threw me. Needless to say, after listening to this audiobook, I want to listen to more of Kiersten Modglin’s stories on audio. This was a very well-done audiobook and the narrator, Devon Sorvari, nailed the character, the story, and everything.
It’s a very fast-paced mystery/thriller listen and I almost listened to it all in one sitting. The story is about Edith, who’s married to Joe, and he’s a ‘real winner’ let me tell ya. Unfortunately, I do/have known the ‘Joe’ types in real life so I can relate some to how Edith feels when she finds pictures of another woman on his phone. Edith has strong suspicions of Joe cheating, but she decides to take matters into her own hands and find the truth for herself by herself. What becomes a mission for the truth turns entirely into something else by the end though. As the focus starts on whether Joe is cheating and with who etc, I kept trying to figure it out throughout the whole story and I could not figure it out until that twist at the end that changed everything.
If you haven’t read or listened to any books by Kiersten Modglin then pick this one up and check it out. I highly recommend the audio because it brings the story to life so much more, along with the characters and sucks you right in. Devon Sorvari does an amazing job narrating and bringing this world and story to life with the audiobook version. Thanks so much to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for letting me listen and review this fantastic ALC (advanced listening copy). All thoughts and opinions are my own.
